(VIRTUAL) The Actual Dance: An Off Broadway Play Time 6:00 PM The Actual Dance, a play written and to be performed by Samuel A Simon. The Actual Dance premiered in New York in 2013, and since had an off-Broadway run, and seen all over the United States and internationally. We are delighted it is now available via Zoom, and that Sam is bringing the show to many Gilda’s Clubs this year. The Actual Dance, is a true story, reflecting Sam’s actual experience as the love-partner, the husband, to his wife now of 54 years, -- though the play takes place 19 year ago, when they were married only 33 years. Susan, his wife, was diagnose with advance breast cancer and as you will experience in the show, there are many ups and downs for both of them. In high stress times, thoughts can flood our brains and create excess worry, cloud our perception of the world, and make it hard to concentrate on basic day-to-day tasks. With this bi-weekly workshop, together we will learn about journaling; from the research behind how journaling helps stress management, to first-hand accounts of how journaling has changed lives. Each one hour session will begin with a brief introduction to the topic, followed by a writing prompt, and wrap up with final thoughts and an opportunity for participants to share some of their journaling.
