Metastatic Breast Cancer Social Time 4:00 PM This group provides fellowship for women who have metastatic breast cancer (advanced stage only) to discuss the unique challenges and issues they face. Ages 18+ welcome. Info & Registration
Men's Gathering Time 5:00 PM A social gathering for men who have been diagnosed with cancer and are seeking support from others diagnosed as well. Join this peer-led social group to share, give and receive support in a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Because Community is Stronger than cancer. This gathering will be held in person only. Relax & Restore Yoga Time 5:00 PM Enter a state of deep relaxation and rest as you slow down and unwind in this floor-based gentle yoga class, focusing on stillness and breath. Jackie will guide you into passive poses, recommending the use of props to support you in whatever way your body needs. Research suggests that the regular practice of restorative yoga improves both psychological and physical well-being; calming the mind and helping to manage symptoms of pain and toxicity associated with cancer treatment. This practice is floor-based, and the movements are neither vigorous nor intense, however if you have concerns or questions about your ability to participate in this practice, please feel free to reach out to the Lake House for additional information. Young Adults Group Time 5:30 PM A support group for young adults (age 18-45) diagnosed with cancer themselves, who are seeking support and connection from other young adults, also diagnosed and walking a similar path. This group is facilitated by a masters level clinician an is a warm and welcoming space for all. Info & Registration
Art Night Time 6:30 PM Art Therapist Erin Shahly, MEd, ATR, will host an interactive therapeutic art workshop. We’ll focus on self-expression and self-discovery. There is no experience necessary to participate, all are welcome. We will come together to create meaningful worksof art that will provide a creative outlet and promote relaxation. Bingo! Time 6:30 PM Bring a buddy, bring the family, or bring yourself on out to test your luck during a fun game of bingo! All materials to play will be provided. Mindful Strength (Fitness) Time 10:15 AM Mindful Strength is a strength training class that melds mindfulness and fitness together. You can expect to perform repetitive movements with your body, weights, and resistance bands with the goal of challenging your muscles while keeping your joints happy! Every class begins with education, a warm up, and intention setting. Each exercise is carefully selected to safely and efficiently strengthen your muscles. Tai Chi for Beginners Time 12:00 PM Please join skilled and certified Tai Chi practitioner, Vernice McDaniel, for a slow flow Tai Chi experience where we will learn to incorporate gentle exercise into our routines to decrease stress, improve mood, flexibility, balance, and quality of life. Tai Chi is an exercise form with its root from Traditional Chinese Medicine used for healing energy and building life force also known as Qi (pronounced Chee). Tai Chi is now widely practiced across the world for improving health including balance, leg strength and for relaxation. The Mindful Approach to Writing Fearlessly Time 3:00 PM Based on Beth Kempton's book The Way of the Fearless Writer and facilitated by Jan Miller, this class will invite you to free your mind, body, spirit, and words. Through original writing exercises and optional sharing, you'll access your true voice and enter into the writing life. Writing experience is not required! Purchase of The Way of the Fearless Writer is required (readily available online). This is a 12 week workshop meeting on the first and third Wednesday of each month through March 5, 2025. Weighted Yoga Time 10:00 AM Join us for Weighted Yoga with Cathie, a fantastic addition to your regular yoga practice. Using small hand weights, the class will begin and end like a traditional yoga class. In the middle, we will alternate between a yoga segment and an upper body weight segment, building a well rounded, full body workout. (1 and 2 pound weights can be used together to create a 3 pound set. 2 and 3 pound weights can eventually be put together to equal a 5 pound set.) Info & Registration

Embelished Tiles Using Napkin Designs Art Workshop Time 5:00 PM This class uses 6x6 tiles to create unique plaques using provided napkin designs or attendees can bring their own napkins. Paper napkin designs are then attached to the tiles using Mod Podge and then unique moldings (provided) can then be painted to match and beads and other embellishments added. This class lasts about 2 1/2 hours with max class size of 6. Attendees should be able to complete 2 tiles each and take them home that day. All supplies provided. Info & Registration

MBSR: Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction Series Time 10:00 AM Paying attention to what’s happening inside you — thoughts, emotions, and body sensations — in the present moment can make all the difference. With awareness, you’ll learn new and intentional responses to situations, communications, and relationships with yourself and others. The automatic reactions that are not serving you will be replaced with new pathways, leading to greater emotional, mental, and physical well-being. MBSR tools and techniques are accessible to all individuals, no matter the age and physical ability. Guided meditation, gentle movement and stretching, and small group discussion are experienced in each of the eight weekly classes. Angel Pillow Project Time 10:00 AM Angel Pillow was created to encourage healing, offer support and provide comfort to breast cancer patients. The heart-shaped pillows, created by breast cancer survivors, are used to soothe both physical and emotional pain immediately after surgery, radiation or other treatment. If you'd like to join this group, registration is required! Ages 16+ welcome.

Diamond Painting Time 10:30 AM Diamond Painting is the name of a mosaic art form in which the artist creates a painting by sticking small resins that sparkle like diamonds on a canvas that has corresponding numbers printed by all the colors of the diamonds. All the painter has to do is take a diamond and stick it onto the canvas. All the diamonds together create a beautiful painting that sparkles like real diamonds. Gilda's Club will provide all the materials needed and store your diamond painting for you, so that you can join us every Monday for a theraputic art form, and go home with a beauitful piece of art when you're done! Lunch and Chat Time 11:30 AM Join us every Monday for a light lunch and check-in with fellow Gilda's Club members. A calming art program will meet before lunch (open to any Gilda's club member) and a support group for those currently in active cancer treatment will meet after, so you can spend the day with us if you'd like! Slow Flow Yoga with Carey Time 1:00 PM She's back! Join Carey for her once a month, unwind and reset, slow flow yoga. After each session she'll review a basic sequence of positions and some breath work that can be done at home, and chat about staying centered and accountable each month. Whether you are joining from home or in-person, Carey recommends you bring a notebook for reflection during the discussion portion after class. Info & Registration
Intro To Dance Therapy Time 4:00 PM Learn about Dance/Movement Therapy (DMT), the psychotherapeutic use of movement to promote emotional, social, cognitive and physical integration of the individual. It is a holistic approach to healing, based on the empirically supported assertion that mind, body, and spirit are inseparable and interconnected; changes in the body reflect changes in the mind and vice versa. This practice is offered by Kali Skodack, dance/movement therapist, mental health counselor, and registered yoga teacher. She received her Master of Arts in Dance/Movement Therapy and Counseling from Antioch University New England after completing her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance and Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Wayne State University. As a therapist, Kali works from a humanistic, strengths-based, feminist approach to therapy bringing awareness to the systems of power that impact our wellbeing. Kali is passionate about creating a safe and nonjudgmental space for individuals to investigate challenges presented in life. Info & Registration

Using small hand weights, the class will begin and end like a traditional yoga class. One To One Ovarian Cancer Support Group Time 4:00 PM The support group is a great mix of women at different points in time since their initial diagnosis was received. It is a wonderful vehicle that helps a new survivor establish contact with other women as early as possible after ovarian cancer is diagnosed in order to reduce anxiety, fear, and isolation. The group offers an opportunity to discuss concerns and possible misconceptions related to treatment in a safe, loving environment. The support group has become the missing link for many - the glue that joins mind, body, and spirit. The special camaraderie that is shared helps survivors realize they are not alone in their battle against this disease. You can get information about new cancer treatments, receive encouragement from others, be inspired by the personal stories, laugh, and cry in a safe environment. The Mindful Approach to Writing Fearlessly Time 3:00 PM Based on Beth Kempton's book The Way of the Fearless Writer and facilitated by Jan Miller, this class will invite you to free your mind, body, spirit, and words. Using small hand weights, the class will begin and end like a traditional yoga class. In the middle, we will alternate between a yoga segment and an upper body weight segment, building a well rounded, full body workout. Relax & Restore Yoga Time 5:00 PM Enter a state of deep relaxation and rest as you slow down and unwind in this floor-based gentle yoga class, focusing on stillness and breath. Jackie will guide you into passive poses, recommending the use of props to support you in whatever way your body needs. Research suggests that the regular practice of restorative yoga improves both psychological and physical well-being; calming the mind and helping to manage symptoms of pain and toxicity associated with cancer treatment. This practice is floor-based, and the movements are neither vigorous nor intense, however if you have concerns or questions about your ability to participate in this practice, please feel free to reach out to the Lake House for additional information. Beginners Tap Dance! Time 1:30 PM Come have fun and learn how to tap dance with this adult beginner tap class. Each class we will slowly and clearly guide you through the basic steps of tap dancing and learn a little choreography as well. Each month we will start a new choreography set. Meaning we will continually add on to the dance we learn throughout the month, so it's best to join at the top of the month! Don’t have tap shoes? Weighted Yoga Time 10:00 AM Join us for Weighted Yoga with Cathie, a fantastic addition to your regular yoga practice. Using small hand weights, the class will begin and end like a traditional yoga class. In the middle, we will alternate between a yoga segment and an upper body weight segment, building a well rounded, full body workout. (1 and 2 pound weights can be used together to create a 3 pound set. 2 and 3 pound weights can eventually be put together to equal a 5 pound set.) Info & Registration

Fertility Preservation Options in Cancer Patients Time 5:00 PM Join us for a hybrid lecture with Dr. Emma Giuliani, a board-certified Reproductive Endocrinology and Fertility Preservation Specialist. While an increased number of young women and men are affected by cancer, most available cancer treatments can irreversibly damage an individual’s future reproductive capacity. There are many fertility preservation options available to cancer patients to preserve their fertility potentials such as: sperm freezing, oocyte freezing, embryo freezing, ovarian tissue and testicular tissue freezing. MBSR: Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction Series Time 10:00 AM Paying attention to what’s happening inside you — thoughts, emotions, and body sensations — in the present moment can make all the difference. With awareness, you’ll learn new and intentional responses to situations, communications, and relationships with yourself and others. The automatic reactions that are not serving you will be replaced with new pathways, leading to greater emotional, mental, and physical well-being. MBSR tools and techniques are accessible to all individuals, no matter the age and physical ability. Guided meditation, gentle movement and stretching, and small group discussion are experienced in each of the eight weekly classes. Diamond Painting Time 10:30 AM Diamond Painting is the name of a mosaic art form in which the artist creates a painting by sticking small resins that sparkle like diamonds on a canvas that has corresponding numbers printed by all the colors of the diamonds. All the painter has to do is take a diamond and stick it onto the canvas. All the diamonds together create a beautiful painting that sparkles like real diamonds. Gilda's Club will provide all the materials needed and store your diamond painting for you, so that you can join us every Monday for a theraputic art form, and go home with a beauitful piece of art when you're done! This class is a dvd-led instruction from Curtis Adams, host of the national senior exercise television series Vitality 4 Life. Every Monday, we'll play his DVD that is easy-to-follow and specifically designed for beginners and older adults seeking low impact safe and effective exercises that are fun to do! It is an invigorating age reverse workout. This Ab Blast exercise program is specifically created using low impact aerobic movements to burn calories without any jumping or jarring, strengthen and tone your entire body plus target your core with seated ab exercises (never on the floor).
