Ab Blasters for Beginners! Time 1:00 PM Lets come together and hold eachother accountable this spring to achieve our health & wellness goals! This class is a dvd-led instruction from Curtis Adams, host of the national senior exercise television series Vitality 4 Life. Every Monday, we'll play his DVD that is easy-to-follow and specifically designed for beginners and older adults seeking low impact safe and effective exercises that are fun to do! It is an invigorating age reverse workout. This Ab Blast exercise program is specifically created using low impact aerobic movements to burn calories without any jumping or jarring, strengthen and tone your entire body plus target your core with seated ab exercises (never on the floor). Living with Cancer Group Time 1:00 PM A support group for those in active treatment for a cancer diagnosis who are seeking support from others also diagnosed. This weekly support group is facilitated by a Masters level clinician.

This summer series will focus on 10 benefits to gardening that reduce stress, practice acceptance and help us 'bathe in green.' Together we'll start our own home gardens (indoor or out) have an opportunity to explore our creative side, learn some tips and tricks along the way and of course, get our hands a little dirty! Supplies for each session will be provided. Participants must register ahead to attend, those 16+ are welcome. No gardening experience needed! Info & Registration

The mindful, repetitive motions of knitting and crochet can help you reduce stress and anxiety and improve memory and focus…and the social benefits of crafting with a group can’t be beat! Gilda's Backyard BBQs Time 5:00 PM Join us this summer for 'Gilda's Backyard BBQs!' The whole family is welcome to play yard games, and other backyard summer activities! Gilda's Club will provide hot dogs, hamburgers & Chips. If you're joining us, you're welcome to bring a summer salad to share! - We'll reschedule if the weather is bad, so be sure and register ahead and we'll notify you of a schedule change. Men's Gathering Time 5:00 PM A social gathering for men who have been diagnosed with cancer and are seeking support from others diagnosed as well. Join this peer-led social group to share, give and receive support in a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Because Community is Stronger than cancer. This gathering will be held in person only. Relax & Restore Yoga Time 5:00 PM Enter a state of deep relaxation and rest as you slow down and unwind in this floor-based gentle yoga class, focusing on stillness and breath. Jackie will guide you into passive poses, recommending the use of props to support you in whatever way your body needs. Research suggests that the regular practice of restorative yoga improves both psychological and physical well-being; calming the mind and helping to manage symptoms of pain and toxicity associated with cancer treatment. This practice is floor-based, and the movements are neither vigorous nor intense, however if you have concerns or questions about your ability to participate in this practice, please feel free to reach out to the Lake House for additional information. Art Night Time 6:30 PM Art Therapist Erin Shahly, MEd, ATR, will host an interactive therapeutic art workshop. We’ll focus on self-expression and self-discovery. There is no experience necessary to participate, all are welcome. We will come together to create meaningful worksof art that will provide a creative outlet and promote relaxation. This class is for members age 12+. Info & Registration
Bingo! Time 6:30 PM Bring a buddy, bring the family, or bring yourself on out to test your luck during a fun game of bingo! All materials to play will be provided. You can expect to perform repetitive movements with your body, weights, and resistance bands with the goal of challenging your muscles while keeping your joints happy! Every class begins with education, a warm up, and intention setting. Each exercise is carefully selected to safely and efficiently strengthen your muscles. Tai Chi for Beginners Time 12:00 PM Please join skilled and certified Tai Chi practitioner, Vernice McDaniel, for a slow flow Tai Chi experience where we will learn to incorporate gentle exercise into our routines to decrease stress, improve mood, flexibility, balance, and quality of life. Tai Chi is an exercise form with its root from Traditional Chinese Medicine used for healing energy and building life force also known as Qi (pronounced Chee). Tai Chi is now widely practiced across the world for improving health including balance, leg strength and for relaxation. Beginners Tap Dance! Time 1:30 PM Come have fun and learn how to tap dance with this adult beginner tap class. Each class we will slowly and clearly guide you through the basic steps of tap dancing and learn a little choreography as well. Each month we will start a new choreography set. Meaning we will continually add on to the dance we learn throughout the month, so it's best to join at the top of the month! Don’t have tap shoes? No problem, wear your favorite tennis shoes or socks until you get the hang of the moves. Once you are hooked you can purchase your shoes. Info & Registration

Angel Pillow Project Time 10:00 AM Angel Pillow was created to encourage healing, offer support and provide comfort to breast cancer patients. The heart-shaped pillows, created by breast cancer survivors, are used to soothe both physical and emotional pain immediately after surgery, radiation or other treatment. If you'd like to join this group, registration is required! Ages 16+ welcome.

Diamond Painting Time 10:30 AM Diamond Painting is the name of a mosaic art form in which the artist creates a painting by sticking small resins that sparkle like diamonds on a canvas that has corresponding numbers printed by all the colors of the diamonds. All the painter has to do is take a diamond and stick it onto the canvas. All the diamonds together create a beautiful painting that sparkles like real diamonds. Gilda's Club will provide all the materials needed and store your diamond painting for you, so that you can join us every Monday for a theraputic art form, and go home with a beauitful piece of art when you're done! Lunch and Chat Time 11:30 AM Join us every Monday for a light lunch and check-in with fellow Gilda's Club members. A calming art program will meet before lunch (open to any Gilda's club member) and a support group for those currently in active cancer treatment will meet after, so you can spend the day with us if you'd like! Kids Nutrition - Healthy Snacking Series Time 1:45 PM Kids ages 3-17 can learn some ideas for eating healthy snacks that include some yummy, whole foods. (and maybe a treat here and there). Kids Learn Tinkertar! Time 2:15 PM This is a six week program meeting on select Tuesdays in June and July. June 18, June 25, July 9, July 16, July 23, July 30 from 2:15-3pm. The Tinkertar is a fun one-string guitar ideal for teaching the youngest of musicians how to play. Tinkertar provided. This class is ideal for kids ages 3-7. Noogieland Play at the Lake House! Time 4:00 PM Noogieland will be open for free play! Hang out in our newly updated space after school. Children under 12 years old can play with all toys in Noogieland and kids over 12 years are free to do homework in the adjoining room with wifi access. Parenting with Cancer Group Time 5:00 PM For parents undergoing treatment themselves or recently completed treatment. Parents will have an opportunity to share, learn, and support one another through their parenting journeys and all of the complexities that come with parenting with cancer. Gather with other survivor parents to celebrate victories and to talk about and address the fears and challenges associated with loving a childhood cancer survivor. Adult Family Bereavement Time 6:30 PM A support group for adults 18+ seeking to find joy while grieving and growing with others after the death of a loved one. Using small hand weights, the class will begin and end like a traditional yoga class. In the middle, we will alternate between a yoga segment and an upper body weight segment, building a well rounded, full body workout. Diamond Painting Time 10:30 AM Diamond Painting is the name of a mosaic art form in which the artist creates a painting by sticking small resins that sparkle like diamonds on a canvas that has corresponding numbers printed by all the colors of the diamonds. All the painter has to do is take a diamond and stick it onto the canvas. All the diamonds together create a beautiful painting that sparkles like real diamonds. Gilda's Club will provide all the materials needed and store your diamond painting for you, so that you can join us every Monday for a theraputic art form, and go home with a beauitful piece of art when you're done! Relax & Restore Yoga Time 5:00 PM Enter a state of deep relaxation and rest as you slow down and unwind in this floor-based gentle yoga class, focusing on stillness and breath. Jackie will guide you into passive poses, recommending the use of props to support you in whatever way your body needs. Research suggests that the regular practice of restorative yoga improves both psychological and physical well-being; calming the mind and helping to manage symptoms of pain and toxicity associated with cancer treatment. Using small hand weights, the class will begin and end like a traditional yoga class. In the middle, we will alternate between a yoga segment and an upper body weight segment, building a well rounded, full body workout. Diamond Painting Time 10:30 AM Diamond Painting is the name of a mosaic art form in which the artist creates a painting by sticking small resins that sparkle like diamonds on a canvas that has corresponding numbers printed by all the colors of the diamonds. All the painter has to do is take a diamond and stick it onto the canvas. All the diamonds together create a beautiful painting that sparkles like real diamonds. Gilda's Club will provide all the materials needed and store your diamond painting for you, so that you can join us every Monday for a theraputic art form, and go home with a beauitful piece of art when you're done! Basketmaking is a therapeutic endeavor that combines learning a new skill with working with others in a supportive, fun environment. The opportunity to “unplug” and learn something new while engaging with others to create a really attractive, useful product is empowering. Mindfulnes Based Self Compassion Series Time 6:00 PM Do you treat yourself as kindly as you would a close friend when they're struggling and in need of compassion? During this 8-week course, you will learn the components of self-compassion and become aware of your inner critic. Through guided meditation, gentle movement, stretching and group discussion, your self-judgment will soften. You will discover that far from being selfish, self-compassion is an essential ingredient of healthy relationships. You will receive a workbook of class materials and resources. Diamond Painting Time 10:30 AM Diamond Painting is the name of a mosaic art form in which the artist creates a painting by sticking small resins that sparkle like diamonds on a canvas that has corresponding numbers printed by all the colors of the diamonds. All the painter has to do is take a diamond and stick it onto the canvas. All the diamonds together create a beautiful painting that sparkles like real diamonds. Gilda's Club will provide all the materials needed and store your diamond painting for you, so that you can join us every Monday for a theraputic art form, and go home with a beauitful piece of art when you're done! Every Monday, we'll play his DVD that is easy-to-follow and specifically designed for beginners and older adults seeking low impact safe and effective exercises that are fun to do! It is an invigorating age reverse workout. This Ab Blast exercise program is specifically created using low impact aerobic movements to burn calories without any jumping or jarring, strengthen and tone your entire body plus target your core with seated ab exercises (never on the floor). Relax & Restore Yoga Time 5:00 PM Enter a state of deep relaxation and rest as you slow down and unwind in this floor-based gentle yoga class, focusing on stillness and breath. Jackie will guide you into passive poses, recommending the use of props to support you in whatever way your body needs. Research suggests that the regular practice of restorative yoga improves both psychological and physical well-being; calming the mind and helping to manage symptoms of pain and toxicity associated with cancer treatment. This practice is floor-based, and the movements are neither vigorous nor intense, however if you have concerns or questions about your ability to participate in this practice, please feel free to reach out to the Lake House for additional information. In this lecture, Dez Mundi (they/them), from the Trans Solutions Research & Resource Center in Indianapolis, will share ways to advocate for your care, tips for finding an affirming PCP, and more.
