Mindful Self Compassion Course Time 10:00 AM Do you treat yourself as kindly as you would a close friend when they are suffering or struggling and are in need of compassion? During this eight week course, you will learn the components of self-compassion and become aware of your inner critic. Through guided meditation, gentle movement and stretching, and group discussion, your self-judgment will soften. You will discover that far from being selfish, self-compassion is an essential ingredient of healthy relationships. You will receive a workbook of class materials and resources. A yoga mat and an open mind are all that you need to provide. Taught by licensed professional therapist, Jan Miller. You will be supported in any way that you need throughout your MSC journey. Pancreatic Cancer: Nutrition Time 6:00 PM Margaux Empey is a Registered Dietitian who earned her Master of Public Health degree from the University of Michigan School of Public Health, Nutritional Sciences Department. She currently works as a Clinical Dietitian at Karmanos Cancer Institute, working primarily in the outpatient setting with patients with all types of cancer. This workshop will include guided meditation, pranayama (breath-work), alternate nostril breathing, energy clearing and chakra balancing meditations. Breast Cancer Group Time 6:30 PM A support group for those diagnosed with breast cancer who are seeking support from others also diagnosed. Mindful Self Compassion Course Time 10:00 AM Do you treat yourself as kindly as you would a close friend when they are suffering or struggling and are in need of compassion? During this eight week course, you will learn the components of self-compassion and become aware of your inner critic. Through guided meditation, gentle movement and stretching, and group discussion, your self-judgment will soften. You will discover that far from being selfish, self-compassion is an essential ingredient of healthy relationships. You will receive a workbook of class materials and resources. Mindful Journaling: Illuminations Time 6:00 PM A journey into mindfulness using the written word. Suggested prompts will guide you as we write together, then share what our minds have illuminated (sharing is optional, and always encouraged). Have a blank journal available, or anything you wish to write on, along with a pen or pencil. That's all you need except for curiosity and a desire to learn more about yourself!
