What possessed her to lug this rather large artifact, a prized possession amongst her worldly items she could haul on a boat? How I wish to have known more about her and her life, her values, the politics of her day, even what a day in a life was like for her. We now have this opportunity to record our legacy for our descendants in a fun and spontaneous way, so they are not wondering about what our lives were like. Attendees will learn about: Reading and understanding recipe cooking terms, knife skills that will help you chop like the professionals, saving money by knowing the difference between store or name brand, fresh, frozen, canned, or dried fruits and vegetables and substituting ingredients when you’re missing recipe items. The Mindful Month: Embracing Awe Time 10:00 AM Your opportunity to put mindful theory into practice! The first session of each month will introduce a mindfulness topic and the whys and ways to incorporate it in your life to enhance well-being. The second session of the month will be an introspective and supportive topical discussion of subsequent changes, challenges, and perspectives that participants have experienced in their awareness and mindfulness practice over the last two weeks. Angel Pillow Project Time 10:00 AM Angel Pillow was created to encourage healing, offer support and provide comfort to breast cancer patients. The heart-shaped pillows, created by breast cancer survivors, are used to soothe both physical and emotional pain immediately after surgery, radiation or other treatment. 2nd Annual Young Breast Cancer Symposium Time 8:30 AM

We'd like to invite you to the 2nd Annual Young Breast Cancer Symposium on Saturday, February 24, 2024, where we'll be addressing the unique challenges that young adult breast cancer survivors and metastatic thrivers face. This symposium is open to ALL, offering learning opportunities tailored towards survivors, thrivers, community health workers, health care professionals, and anyone interested in learning more about breast cancer. Join to learn from experts in the field and young adults who experienced cancer under the age of 45. Participants can attend in-person or virtually.

Noogieland Play at the Lake House! Time 4:00 PM Noogieland will be open for free play! Hang out in our newly updated space after school. Children under 12 years old can play with all toys in Noogieland and kids over 12 years are free to do homework in the adjoining room with wifi access. What to Do About Intimacy & Sex with a Cancer Diagnosis Time 4:00 PM This discussion will focus on an aspect of treatment and survivorship that isn't often discussed: Resuming healthy and fun intimacy during and after cancer treatment. Sexual function problems from: erectile dysfunction, incontinence, vaginal dryness, changes in vaginal discharge and odor, changes in desire, comfort, and body image, pain, are all things that can come up with treatment. It's something that our doctors rarely talk to us about and can be hard for us even to talk to our partners about. Join us as Dr. Roy speaks on these sensitive issues with frank and informational tips on how to get back to a place of joy and comfort in your sex life, during and after treatment. This talk is appropriate whether you are single or partnered as sexual health is important in either case. Info & Registration

Little Kids, Big Feelings Time 5:00 PM 4th Tuesday of every month for kids who have a parent with cancer or have experienced cancer in some other way. This group is ideal for children ages 4-9. Each month we will explore feelings and expressions along with free play time in our Noogieland Play Area. This group time coincides with “Parenting With Cancer” group. Info & Registration
Parenting With Cancer Group Time 5:00 PM For parents undergoing treatment themselves or recently completed treatment. Parents will have an opportunity to share, learn, and support one another through their parenting journeys and all of the complexities that come with parenting with cancer. This welcoming group is facilitated by a licensed clinician. This group coincides with the “Little Kids, Big Feelings” group/playtime that takes place in the Noogieland play area. This group is an opportunity for those who have lost a loved one to cancer and are wanting to connect with others on managing life after loss. Art Therapy For All Time 10:00 AM Art Therapist Erin Shahly, MEd, ATR, will host an interactive therapeutic art workshop. We’ll focus on self-expression and self-discovery. There is no experience necessary to participate, all are welcome. We will come together to create meaningful worksof art that will provide a creative outlet and promote relaxation. Come get a good workout in while learning about your local cancer support resource. Zumba (low-impact) will protect your joints and muscles while raising your heart rate and improve your balance, posture, and coordination.
