There is no experience necessary to participate, all are welcome. We will come together to create meaningful worksof art that will provide a creative outlet and promote relaxation. Fishing Fall Family Fun Day - Offsite! Time 4:00 PM This special event is taking place at Marshbank Park - 2805 Hiller Rd, West Bloomfield Township, MI 48324. Dress warm! The weather on the lake is signifigantly more chilly! Enjoy fall on the lake at Marshbank Park! Fish from the dock (catch and release only) with the Mike Mckinstry, the host of Discovery Channel's Bassquatch Hunter- Fish Out of Water. No fishing experience necessary. Angel Pillow Project Time 10:00 AM Location Clubhouse Art Room Angel Pillow was created to encourage healing, offer support and provide comfort to breast cancer patients. The heart-shaped pillows, created by breast cancer survivors, are used to soothe both physical and emotional pain immediately after surgery, radiation or other treatment. If you'd like to join this group, registration is required!

Want to learn about how communities can imporve cancer care? Join us for dinner and an important conversation about Clinical Trials. The FACCTS program presented by Karmanos Cancer Institute will share provide information about the clinical trials process, how to enroll the significance of clinical trial and cancer care as well as a presentation and Q&A with gynecological oncologist Dr. Ira Winer, MD, PHD. We'll also hear first hand from a cancer survivor's clinical trial experience. This presentation is supported by Gilda's Club Metro Detroit & Michigan Ovarian Cancer Alliance.

Move & Learn: Lymphedema Time 6:00 PM Yolanda Marie, PT, DPT, OMPT, CHC is a Licensed Physical Therapist and Certified Health Coach with 20+ years of work experience in the field of Physical Therapy. In this engaging and fun Move & Learn workshop we will discuss the benefits and safe parameters of exercise in the presence of lymphedema, before, during, and after cancer treatment. We will then go through a full-body movement routine that includes: safe stretching, body weight exercises (sitting and/or standing), and balance activities. Afterward, there will be time for Q&A and further discussion, as led by you! (If you usually wear compression garments, please wear them to this workshop if you plan on performing the full-body movement routine.) Charcuterie board will be provided, register today! Life After Whipple: The Role Stress Plays in Disease Development & Progression Time 6:00 PM The goal of the Life After Whipple Project is to research, collect and disseminate informtion that may be helpful for Pancreatic Cancer survivors. As if getting a pancreatic cancer diagnosis wasn’t bad enough, many patients are left to figure out how to survive the emotional damage caused by both the disease itself, and the treatments’ affects. Receiving a cancer diagnosis can give you a deeper understanding of what it is to feel stressed. This presentation will focus on the role stress can play in the development of disease, and how it affects the progression of disease moving forward. Presented by Dr. Howard Crawford, PhD FASGE, Scientific Director of the Henry Ford Pancreatic Cancer Center. Info & Registration
