Weighted Yoga with Cathie, is a fantastic addition to your regular yoga practice. Using small hand weights, the class will begin and end like a traditional yoga class. In the middle, we will alternate between a yoga segment and an upper body weight segment, building a well rounded, full body workout. (1 and 2 pound weights can be used together to create a 3 pound set. 2 and 3 pound weights can eventually be put together to equal a 5 pound set.)

this 8-week course, you will learn the components of self-compassion and become
aware of your inner critic. Through guided meditation, gentle movement,
stretching and group discussion, your self-judgment will soften. You will
discover that far from being selfish, self-compassion is an essential
ingredient of healthy relationships. You will receive a workbook of class
materials and resources. A yoga mat and an open mind are all that you need to

Find the balance between tackling your edge and how to best use pose modifications.
This class is meant to allow students to explore tastes of a one breath, one movement flow, and then work through a slower flow, having students hold poses for longer periods to really learn the alignment, sensation. Throughout the class students will explore balance of utilizing pose modification to offer themselves support, and tackling their edge. Generally, during this class we will move through the opening, about 2 flows, a focus pivotal pose, stretching and then we close with a well-deserved savasana.

Life After Whipple #102: The Basics of Diabetes

The goal of the Life After Whipple Project is to begin to research, collect and disseminate information that may be helpful for pancreatic cancer survivors. This project is for patients who have had, or will have, the Whipple Procedure and are interested in learning how this surgery will affect their lives afterward. Our goal is to help patients learn how to live a successful life, after Whipple.
This month's presentation will cover the endocrine functions of the pancreas, diabetes management after Whipple, Type 2 vs. Type 3C diabetes, insulin history, therapy & different types available, as well as diabetes technology - glucose monitors & insulin pumps.

this 8-week course, you will learn the components of self-compassion and become
aware of your inner critic. Through guided meditation, gentle movement,
stretching and group discussion, your self-judgment will soften. You will
discover that far from being selfish, self-compassion is an essential
ingredient of healthy relationships. You will receive a workbook of class
materials and resources. A yoga mat and an open mind are all that you need to

Optimizing Bowel and Bladder Function Post Radiation and Chemotherapy

This presentation will be focused on managing the symptoms that are associated with bowel and bladder dysfunction that are common after radiation to pelvic region or side effects from chemotherapy. Weighted Yoga with Cathie, is a fantastic addition to your regular yoga practice. Using small hand weights, the class will begin and end like a traditional yoga class. In the middle, we will alternate between a yoga segment and an upper body weight segment, building a well rounded, full body workout. (1 and 2 pound weights can be used together to create a 3 pound set. 2 and 3 pound weights can eventually be put together to equal a 5 pound set.)
