Jackie will guide you into passive poses, recommending the use of props to support you in whatever way your body needs. Research suggests that the regular practice of restorative yoga improves both psychological and physical well-being; calming the mind and helping to manage symptoms of pain and toxicity associated with cancer treatment. Introduction to Becoming a Bone Marrow Donor

This presentation outlines the life-saving process of becoming a bone marrow donor, from the initial cheek swab to the day of donation. Learn about donor eligibility, what happens if you are a match, and how the collection procedure has evolved to be simple and highly supportive for donors. DKMS is an international non-profit organization dedicated to saving the lives of patients with blood cancer and blood disorders. Founded in Germany in 1991 by Dr. Peter Harf, DKMS and the organization’s over 1,600 employees have since relentlessly pursued the aim of giving as many patients as possible a second chance at life. With over 13 million registered donors, DKMS has succeeded in doing this more than 135,000 times to date by providing blood stem cell donations to those in need.

Diamond Painting is the name of a mosaic art form in which the artist creates a painting by sticking small resins that sparkle like diamonds on a canvas that has corresponding numbers printed by all the colors of the diamonds.
All the painter has to do is take a diamond and stick it onto the canvas. All the diamonds together create a beautiful painting that sparkles like real diamonds.
Gilda's Club will provide all the materials needed and store your diamond painting for you, so that you can join us every Monday for a therapeutic art form, and go home with a beautiful piece of art when you're done! Ages 16+ are welcome!

Elemental creates quality thermal bras designed with the needs of breast cancer survivors and previvors in mind. These are luxurious bras that were generously given to Gilda's Club to host our very own 'Bra Brigade!' Members can stop in any time between
11:00 am and 1:00 pm to pick out a bra to take home. We'll have various sizes available to try on.
Note: While these bras were created with the comfort of breast cancer survivors in mind, you do not need to be impacted by breast cancer to attend. However, you do need to register ahead of time please!

Loving, Dying & Letting Go Workshop

Join Melissa Bila Regan, BSN, RN ; Breast Cancer Survivor, Mindfulness Teacher and Grief Coach for an intimate in-person event at Gilda's Club Royal Oak where we will explore life transitions. This gathering provides a safe, mindful space for adults (ages 18 and up ) to share stories, gain insights, connect and personally reflect with others on the profound journey of grief, love and letting go. Together we will explore the self-care practices of meditation, journaling, movement, and rituals for healing. For those who have experienced grief due to a death or the loss of an important relationship, or for those caring for or working with the bereaved; this workshop will be particularly moving/beneficial. We look forward to seeing you there! Light lunch to be provided.
